Tomorrow I die, apparently…

I started reading one of those chain-mail things yesterday. It stated that if I failed to forward on the message to at least 4 people, I would die within 2 days.  So, I’m afraid, my days are numbered, and I perish in the next 24 hours. Never did like those tagging/chain mail things…

A lasting tribute

Every so often I chance upon a website that impresses me, and I feel I have to share its existence with my fellow bloggers. The latest one is called Lasting Tribute, and is, I feel, done in a very respectable way:

Incidentally, one thing I enjoy reading in papers is the Obituary page. It’s always humbling to see what great things some people have achieved with their lives.

The fading of the light.

Been quite a week really. My mother reached her 70th birthday, it snowed (in October!) in many parts of England (northern Spain too, believe it or not), and I manged to survive until another payday. There really isn’t enough work to keep me full occupied, and it’s the worst thing in the world stringing things out and pretending to be busy. Having said that, my company do need me for the production run halfway through the month (when I can be busy) and if they do need to sling me out, they now have to give me 4 weeks notice. So, it’s a case of keeping my head down until December – after which time the new system is due to be implemented and I’m looking for work elsewhere.

Another thing that happened this week was the old guy next door passing away. Right up to (nearly) the end he kept pottering about, throwing bread to the birds and chasing his neighbours for keeping windows/doors open. A shame that he didn’t seem to have any family visit him and that he died alone, but at least he was active to the end. RIP Stefan.
