Well, I’ve lost access (hopefully only temorarily) to my Windows stuff, despite setting up partitions/dual booting as per documentation. Plus it took nearly 2 days to get the Ubuntu Linux stuff in, up and running. I have a plus point though – getting connected back to the Internet wasn’t too hard. Still, there’s a lot of work to be done now…

The Big Move
Right, in the next day or two I’m going to set up a Linux system (Ubuntu) on my PC, using a dual-boot system (so I can still access Windows). Now, I’ve got quite a lot of experience in IT, but this is (to me) a bit daunting. First step (and this is what I’m worried about, losing my Windows programs and files) is to set up a partition. Second step will then be to install Ubuntu.
I suspect this will take some time; I’ll update here later as to how I got on.
