I think I spoke too soon on my previous entry. Today we’ve got torrential rain. All that lovely sunshine has disappeared. Never mind – good for the garden! Elsewhere things appear to be picking up in the jobs market. I had a phone technical interview on Wednesday (didn’t perform too well unfortunately so lost out on that), have another telephone interview mapped in for Tuesday, and the possibility of another job interview in Bracknell. Still plenty of opportunity to fail them both, but at least I’m in with a shout.. I think

Back to Madrid
My latest job has come to an end, and I’m taking the opportunity to fly off to Madrid (and then Santander) for a few days. The forecast seems to predict heavy rain later this week, which is not welcome! Temperatures don’t seem too pleasant either – Minimum tomorrow in Madrid is -2, maximum 7. But I’m sure I can have a good time even so! Here in the UK it’s turned a little colder, but there’s been quite a bit of sun today, which is good news. Even if the Spring rains come, at least we get the longer days. Looking good!

Summer’s over!
Well maybe not, but it feels like it. It poured with rain this morning and now it feels relatively cold compared to last week. Probably a drop of 8C. On a work front I’m feeling pleased with myself for helping to install and get working a message forum for a client I know (non-paying unfortunately). I I say pleased with myself, but I have to admit the forum (SMF) was quite easy to set up. Well done those guys at SMF. The best thing is I can look and learn from the source code – won’t be long before I can describe myself as a competent web programmer (unemployed)!

It never rains, but it pours…
Well, at last some good news, resulting from an interview this morning. Barring major (or even middling) hiccups I have a contract job starting on Thursday. This will take me up to the end of the year. It does mean however that a load of stuff I had planned to do on my computer will have to wait. I’m knee deep in forms to fill in, declarations to make, software to gem up on. Not to mention I’ll have to get permission to extend my overdraft with the bank (it’ll probably be 2 months before I see any money).
Other than that, it certainly felt like Autumn here today. The leaves are starting to fall, it started raining mid-morning and hasn’t stopped (although it hasn’t been particularly heavy). Plus I turned the lights on at 2.30 as it was so dark. Ah well, only 6 or 7 months to Spring!
