Ah well!

I think I spoke too soon on my previous entry. Today we’ve got torrential rain. All that lovely sunshine has disappeared. Never mind – good for the garden! Elsewhere things appear to be picking up in the jobs market. I had a phone technical interview on Wednesday (didn’t perform too well unfortunately so lost out on that), have another telephone interview mapped in for Tuesday, and the possibility of another job interview in Bracknell. Still plenty of opportunity to fail them both, but at least I’m in with a shout.. I think

Sunny days..

It has to be said, July wasn’t the best month weatherwise. However August has (so far) been quite pleasant. Standing out in the car boot sale this morning I’ve changed colour quite dramatically. Makes up for not being able to afford to go to the beach this year! Plus the forecast seems to suggest we’ve got more sunny warm weather this week. Make the most of it folks – Autumn is around the corner!

Yes, there is a recession.

I had a couple of signs today that the recesssion is starting to take effect. Firstly, an order I’d made with Amazon came early. Secondly, my bus (or at least the second stage bus) to work actually got there on time – no delays due to over-congestion. So the economy is definitely slowing out there. Of course, come March (when I’m out of work again) I’ll be able to experience it first-hand. At least I’ve had plenty of practice of being without a job over the last 7 years. I’m looking forward to walking in the sunshine again!

Nothing much about nothing

Still slogging away at job, which is finishing end of February. In fact the company has already laid off some permies, so no hope of a last minute reprieve for yours truly. Not that I’m overkeen on the current situation as all the travelling on bus (which seems to be twice as bad in Oxford as anywhere else) gets me down. Apart from that I’m enjoying seeing the sun from time to time. I’m sure we’re getting more sunshine now than we did last “summer”. Shame it’s so cold  though, but you can’t have everything.

One more whinge – why is WordPress so difficult to use? Or am I the only one who finds signing in, or posting a load of hassle?

Sunny again!

It may be freezing cold, but it’s still nice to wake up and see a blue sky with sunshine. Priceless! I treated myself to a couple of pints of Guinness at an Irish pub last night. Ok, so it wasn’t cheap, but having a drink every now and again shouldn’t be too harmful financially. Trouble is, I have to treat my better half to a Sunday lunch down the pub on Sunday. It’s her birthday you see! Add in her prezzie, and it’s turned out to be an expensive weekend. Just as well I’ve budgeted for this over the last 2 months!
